Flat Bottom Silos
Flat bottom silos are the ideal solution for large-scale grain storage. Designed to optimise capacity and ensure durability, these silos are a top choice for agricultural and industrial applications.
Flat bottom silos are the ideal solution for large-scale grain storage. Designed to optimise capacity and ensure durability, these silos are a top choice for agricultural and industrial applications.
Our flat bottom silos with corrugated walls are expertly designed to store a wide range of cereals and granulated materials in bulk. Whether for short-term or extended storage, our CERES series silos provide a durable and efficient solution tailored to your needs.
High storage capacity
Made from galvanised high-strength steel
Customised projects available
Diameters: From 3 m to 32 m
Capacities: From 30 m3 to 26,000 m3
These specifications ensure safe and efficient storage for a diverse range of free-flowing products, even over extended periods.
Our silos are constructed using corrugated steel sheets made from pre-galvanized steel coils, supplied exclusively by approved steel manufacturers under our strict quality system.
Material grade: S450GD + Z600 Zink Coating or Magnelis ZM310 o ZM430, compliant with EN-10346 standards
Corrugation design: Waves measuring 106 mm in length and 13 mm in depth, providing enhanced structural strength.
The wall sheet thickness varies between 0.8 mm and 3.5 mm. For additional strength, we use combinations of different thicknesses based on calculation requirements to meet structural demands.
Wall sheets: Provide a useful height of 1,166 mm and a length of 3,140 mm.
External galvanised stiffeners: Transmit vertical loads (grain weight and silo self-weight) to the foundation, ensuring stability under heavy loads.
These engineering features deliver superior durability and performance, even in demanding conditions.
The two main norms used for the determination of loads and pressures acting on silos are based on the European EUROCODE and the American ANSI ASAE Standards.
Norms EUROCODE / ANSI:
In silos calculated according to EUROCODE, the loads and pressures acting on the walls of the silo are based on EN 1991-4 Actions on Structures: Silos and Tanks, and when calculated according to ANSI, the grain loads are based on ANSI / ASAE EP433.
Structural evaluation:
The structural assessment of the silo and any steel structure is based on the following standards:
o EN 1990 Basis of Structural design
o EN 1993 Eurocode 3: Design of steel structures
• Part 1.1. General rules and rules for buildings (EN 1993-1-1:2005)
• Part 1.3. Cold formed thin gauge members and sheeting (EN 1993-1-3:2006)
• Part 1.5. Plated structural elements (EN 1993-1-5:2006)
• Part 1.8. Design of joints (EN 1993-1-8:2005)
• Part 4-1. Silos (EN 1998-4:2006)
